Hollywood has lost an icon today. Carrie Fisher, remembered for her most iconic role in Star Wars as Princess Leia, has died at the age of 60.
Fisher was the daughter of two superstars of Hollywood’s Golden Age, singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds. The actress was exposed to scandal and scrutiny from early childhood. Most notably for her father’s notorious decision to leave his family to marry Elizabeth Taylor.
Fisher followed in her mother’s footsteps and found a familiar outlet: reading, writing poetry and eventually, acting. The acting led to a role she never thought she would get. Yet we remember her, now and forever, as the beautiful Princess Leia.
